Start the hype train -> Obsidian Entertainment also made Fallout: New Vegas. It is within the realm of possibility that Bethesda let them do the next Fallout as well...
Call me a pCars fanboy, but this 'review' does not touch on any valid point and all the negative points he makes don't get any backup; he just makes a statement and moves on.
I might agree with the writer's opinion on unrewarding gameplay (because you don't get a 2 minute cinematic celebrating your podium finish or tons of cash), but "Poor Graphical Execution" ?!?! I have to completely disagree with that. My PC only has a GTX 970 and I find the i...
Though I don't completely disagree with you on most of your points, I have to ask why you think keeping the SteamOS/Client updated is a bad thing?
Agreed, though I never finished Dishonored. I think Rage was underrated and overshadowed by other games that came out around the same time. A sequel with a little more openness would do the franchise some good.
I'm not defending DLC outright, but if your complaint is about the $60 price tag, then consider this: even if you make minimum wage in the U.S. (in some states it's $7.25 / ~15k/yr), $60 is +-0.4% of your yearly income. From a developers point of view, that should be low enough for the average person to afford (who actually make about $45k/yr in the U.S.).
Can you elaborate on what you're referring to? What did The Witcher (an open world, RPG with story and character progression) do that Evolve (a 4v1 multiplayer shooter 'arena') didn't.
This game has been out for one day and you're putting out a guide already? Give people a chance to figure it out for themselves before you tempt them with this crap.
What? Where's the article content? All they did was list the DLC and point me somewhere else for information about them. Where's the journalism? They should just shut down that website.
As a software developer myself (not games though), I'm of two sides with this.
On one hand, the average gamer (PC or console) is not going to empty their wallets just because a publisher says we should, or tempts us with 'freebies'. We expect to pay a certain dollar amount for a complete, bug-free, content-filled product that should keep us engaged for, at least, 8 hours. How long did Super Mario take us to finish as kids?
On the other hand, the d...
Wow, both of these games look phenomenal. I think the difference between them, and what is causing an argument, is the light source. In Drive Club there is a more focused light source peeking throught the clouds causing more dynamic shadows, but with less ambient light that would diffuse the shadows. In PCars, there seems to be more ambient light from the 'sun' being filtered from the clouds, causing the shadows to 'disappear'. Certainly both look beautiful and DC appears to b...
2 things jump out at me while reading this rant.
His first line says Kickstarter failures are piling up, but never offers any proof to the matter. He only ever talks about ONE project he backed.
The second this is: why would anyone back a game being managed by YouTube personalities? They clearly don't know the first thing about game development. Why would anyone back a game that is not being developed by the people running the Kickstarter project? Red fla...
With all the pre-built 'tried-and-true' game engines out there already, I find it intriguing that a lot of new games are using their own engine.
Ooooh, prizes!
First I've heard of this game. Looks interesting and seems very different than those platformers already out there. I look forward to trying it out and test my mettle!
First, I don't understand why people keep comparing sim racers to CodeMasters' games. They never said their games were sim, they know they aren't and are happy that way. It's all over the forums, "Well, Assetto Corsa does [this]" and "Project Cars does [that], why can't GRID do it?". They are totally different beasts; apples and oranges, if you will, and designed from the ground up to be simulation racers (by the way, gamers like to ignore what simulati...
I agree. I think it's all about the demographic you're trying to capture and whether that demographic believes what you have created is worth the cost.
From his tweets--
"The Witness wants to use over 5GB right now, and that is by a small team. Textures + lightmaps + audio = lots of bytes.", "The Witness is 5GB so far, and it is an indie game."
From the way he's talking, the entire game takes up around 5GB of HDD space, not using 5GB of RAM, unless he's loading the entire game into RAM for speed reasons.
Seems to me that a lot of people are taking his verbage out of contex...
I can't decide if it's a clever name or not:
- http://www.imdb.com/title/t... - Airwolf
- http://www.imdb.com/title/t... - Blue Thunder
That damn Ogre and his boulder throws. Maybe it's because I played the game on a console, but it doesn't seem right that I can be hit even if I've moved out of the field of view (eg. if I'm standing next to the Ogre when he throws the boulder, it shouldn't hit me.)
Target locking is stupid and it completely destroyed the game for me.
So, while he was playing the game for over 70 hours there was nothing about the game that deserved to be written about? Not one aspect of the game deserves more than a broad "its ok" statement? Oh, but when a bug prevents him from progressing in the story, the game, in its entirety, turns to a pile of crap? CDPR put more than 200 hours of content, tons of voice acting, a near open world to explore and learn, tons of creature types that all have different combat styles, and top of th...
